Anal fistulas are uncommon openings that develop between the anal canal and the skin near the perineum. These abnormal connections often occur from complicating medical problems, such as fistulizing inflammatory bowel disease or bacterial infections. Symptoms can present pain, discomfort, drainage from the fistula opening, and fullness in the anal
